We have moved into a large house in a suburb of Krakow called Zielonki. Jack’s parents live a 4 minute drive, or 12 minute walk through a beautiful park (that Jack’s dad designed). We have plenty of guestrooms and will host visitors at any time! We have put both our guest rooms on Airbnb, more on that later.
Our first project was furnishing our house. I found an awesome used/antique furniture store in the city and was able to buy an entire dining room set with chairs for around $100. Then I refinished the chairs and painted them all the same color. So essentially 11 mis-matched, ugly, dirty chairs turned into 11 beautiful pieces of furniture. When we aren’t having a dinner party, we use the chairs and stools all over the house for other things. I will explain how I re-finished the chairs in my next post.
Anyway, our house features a playroom with a ping-pong table, which we have added our desks to, so it is more like an office. A living room with a fireplace. A kitchen with a breakfast bar and dining area. Outside we have a huge yard with a greenhouse, patio, and garden. There are two bathrooms, one with a whirlpool tub, and the other with a standing shower. Upstairs we have 2 guest bedrooms (which we rent out), and our bedroom, also featuring furniture I have refinished.
We have slowly started adding little pieces of art and decorations aorund the house. On Sundays we go to a local flea market and get more and more things to make our house more comfortable. And we cannot wait for the spring when we can start to see our neighborhood blossoming!
